The Earjeans 365 Collection: #306
Today's jewelry creation is inspired by my recent workout session.
Yesterday I spent 2 hours in the gym- 1 hour of body works (combination of light weights and aerobics) and 1 hour of Zumba! Can I tell you I was exhausted but I had a lot of fun. Afterwards, I went directly to my sister's for a full body massage (after a long shower of course) without passing go or collecting $200!
I woke up a little sore this morning but with a lot of energy. So earring #306 is called "Energy for your ears" :)
Our materials
Carnelian tear drop bead
turquoise bead chips
fresh water pearls
czech glass beads
Carnelian gemstones are said to give one energy, protect from bad vibrations, guard against poverty, help give a sense of humor, and calms the temper.
Design time for these is about 15 minutes. I love using this color combination because its so versatile. Plus the color contrast is so eye-catching. This works great with neutral and earth tone color outfits. You can also dress these up or down.
Here's our new earrings
earrings now available click here
If you find yourself in need of a quick energy boost try one of these 3 fun and easy ways to do it, without reaching for those energy drinks
1) Walk around your building, neighborhood, or at a nearby park on your next break. You'll be amazed at what a quick 10-15 minute walk will do! Grab a friend for a nice chat if you don't want to walk alone.
2) Put on your favorite up-beat song and dance like no one is watching. You can escape to your car if you can't get to a room by yourself. Turn it up loud and move your limbs!
3) Eat a light protein snack. Nuts, meats, fruits, and veggies are a great source of protein. Ditching high sugar, high carb drinks/snacks will help keep your energy high. Also having a well balanced breakfast helps keep your energy level steady throughout the day.
Until tomorrow, have a fabulous day!

The Earjeans 365 Collection: #307
Thursday's jewelry inspiration came from a fashion magazine that caught my eye. On the cover of Real Simple [Life Made Easy] magazine, There is a collage of pictures of various clothing pieces and accessories and the color scheme is red, tan, grey, turquoise, black, gold, and white. (See picture above)
The color combination immediately grabbed my attention so I had to put them in earring form :)
Earrings #307 are called "Mix it Up" shredded leather earrings
our materials
leather
black seed beads
hematite bead
findings
I did make 1 slight variation by using silver findings instead of gold. This design took about 45 minutes to create and they are definitely eye-catching!
Side note: I just got a new order of leathers in and the colors are *sings* awesome! More leather creations to come....
And here's our new earrings

Have an amazing day!

The Earjeans 365 Collection: #308
Today's jewelry inspiration comes from my fellow group-mates Arrested Development and the release of our new song "Living"! click here to listen and download today
2012 marks the 20 year anniversary of Arrested Development's entrance into mainstream hip hop music with the release of "Tennessee" and shortly after "Mr. Wendal" & "People Everyday". Since then, we've released several records including Zingalamaduni, Unplugged, Heroes Of The Harvest, Raw & Live, Amung the Trees, Since The Last Time, & Strong. We are currently in the studio recording our new project called "20" to be released sometime next year.
One of the many things Arrested Development stands for is the importance of younger generations learning from older generations and vice versa. It's important to know where we've been but also embrace where we're headed. Combining the knowledge of the past and the present gives us a better chance for a well balanced future.
So jewelry piece #308 is called "Come Together" unakite bracelet
Our materials
unakite beads
hematite beads
stretch bead cord
Unakite stone is a combination of red jasper and green epidote solidly bound together. From this we get the meaning that what comes together belongs together.
After about 10 minutes this is our new bracelet
Bracelet now available at earjeans.etsy.com
Enjoy this beautiful Wednesday and do all you can to improve your "Living"!

Today's an exciting day in Georgia as we welcome Florida A&M and Southern University for the 2011 Atlanta Classic! Both teams will battle it out on the football field today at the Georgia Dome in front of a sold out crowd. The Earjeans 365 Collection: #313
Today is officially the first day of fall. I'll admit I'm a bit excited for the change in weather although I'm going to miss the long, hot, summer days. A new season always marks a moment for change- whether minor or major. Today's jewelry piece is dedicated to mother nature and this season of change.
#313 "Loving the Earth" necklace
Our materials
hematite beads
nut beads (dyed green)
jewelry wire
I made this necklace long so it would be easy to put over your head instead of fumbling with a clasp. I'm hoping to find more of these beads to make a few more :)
Design time for this is about 20 minutes.
Our new necklace
Necklace is available for purchase here

The Earjeans 365 Collection: #314
Today's jewelry inspiration comes from my observations of how many people felt about the recent execution of Troy Davis. Click here for more information on this story.
I, like many other folks, found myself full of questions, opinions, and even more questions that left me with mixed emotions. I thought it would be fitting to create today's jewelry piece to reflect this. Making these earrings didn't answer any of the questions I had but it did help me shake the "weird" feeling I had this morning.
So piece #314 are called "Mixed Emotions" beaded earrings
Our materials
bamboo stick beads
jet/amber shell stick beads
hematite beads
dark brown wood ball beads
6mm sun bicone beads
jewelry wire
findings
Putting these cuties together took about 20 minutes. Each style of bead is different in it's own way yet they all mix together beautifully to make a fabulous, fashionable jewelry piece for your fall collection.

I hope you had a very productive Thursday! See you bright and early in the morning :)

The Earjeans 365 collection: #315
Today's jewelry creation actually started as a project that my 11-yr old jewelry student and I worked on for her lesson. I had a copy of Bead Style Magazine and I asked her to pick out something she wanted to learn. She picked a very beautiful necklace and we went for it.
Our lessons usually last for about an hour and a half. But this necklace took us almost 4 hours to make! We had no idea. (We even took a break so she could do her school work, lol) I continued to work on my piece while she worked on math.
When our necklaces were complete we were both excited about our new creations. She said she is going to wear her's to school sometime soon. After working almost 4 hours on one piece, I was gonna blog about it, :)
So piece #315 is called "Fancy Fall" beaded necklace
Our materials
fishing wire
carnelian bead chips
midnight blue rectangle & oval wood beads
gold pearl beads
silver ball beads
silver cone beads
jewelry wire
findings
I carefully followed the directions this design called for (links to mag, design, etc are at the bottom of this post) but I used different beads and a different color combination. Almost 4 hours later (we started at 5pm and I was finished at 8:51pm), this is what I created...
I am so proud of my student, Adah! Here's a picture of what she made. At 11yrs old, she definitely full of a lot of creativity and positive energy and I'm so blessed to be around her. She is truly destined for greatness.
Great work, Adah!
I'm glad we did this design as I'd like to make a few more with different colors and styles.
Today's jewelry piece will be available soon. Thanks for following along with me and have a fabulous day!
