The Earjeans 365 Collection: #343

Today's jewelry piece is in loving memory of Mr. Nick Ashford of Ashford and Simpson. For those of you who don't know about him, Nick Ashford, was one-half of the legendary Motown songwriting duo Ashford & Simpson. They wrote many soulful classics for artists like Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye and funk hits for Chaka Khan and others. He died this past Monday at the age of 70.

Though they had some of their greatest success at Motown with classics like "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "Reach Out And Touch Somebody's Hand" by Ross and "You're All I Need To Get By" by Gaye and Tammi Terrell, Ashford & Simpson also created classics for others, like the anthem "I'm Every Woman" by Khan (and later remade by Whitney Houston).

Jewelry piece #343 "Nick Ashford Black Onyx bracelet"

Our materials....

square black onyx beads
8mm round black onyx beads
jewelry wire
barrel clasp

I used 2 strands of 19-strand jewelry wire to create this bracelet for extra security as these beads are a little heavier than I usually work with. I kept the design for this simple by alternating a square bead and ball bead. (Men are very simple especially when it comes to their taste in jewelry...well, at least the men I know are :)

our new bracelet...

May the memory of love, music, & life of Mr. Nick Ashford forever live on in the hearts of all those he's touched.

Happy Wednesday!
